Terri Pickens is a fourth-generation Idahoan, born and raised in Pocatello. She graduated from Highland High School and went on to earn her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Southern California in 1994. Terri returned home to the University of Idaho College of Law, where she participated in the Idaho Law Review and Appellate Clinic, earning her J.D. in 1998. Terri believes deeply in hard work, community, and preserving Idaho’s public lands and values for future generations. She is proud to call Idaho home.

Eric Myricks is a proud Idahoan, father, husband, entrepreneur, and brain health advocate devoted to restoring the kind of reasoned, compassionate leadership once embodied by the late Governor Cecil Andrus. Like Andrus, Eric is a moderate Democrat who believes government works best when it listens, includes, and solves problems for everyone, not just the well-connected few. His vision is simple: bring reason, fairness, and people-first government back to Idaho.

Rakesh Mohan is a former director of the Idaho Office of Performance Evaluations who is running as a Democrat for Idaho State Controller in the 2026 election. He is challenging incumbent Republican State Controller Brandon Woolf, who has held the office since 2012. Website coming soon. 

Hickman is running to restore professionalism, integrity, and steady legal judgment to an office that should uphold the rule of law, not politics.

“The attorney general is the people’s lawyer,” said Hickman. “This office must be grounded in ethics, sound legal analysis, and respect for the Constitution. Idaho deserves an attorney general who puts people and the legal process ahead of politics.”

Becky Sundin Mitchell wasn’t always a Democrat.

She grew up in a household with a staunch Republican father who worked as a school teacher. She was a Republican, too, and credits her father for her love of education. But over time, she felt that the party on the other side of the aisle was doing a better job of supporting education. 

She said she became disheartened with how Republicans spoke about teachers like her, painting them all with a broad brush. She changed her voter registration to the Democratic Party after the general election in November 2020, according to her Canyon County voting record.

Maxwell McSwain is a 27 year old working class Idahoan. He grew up in Coeur d’Alene with grandparents, siblings, and a single disabled father. Maxwell comes from a long line of public servants, with both of his grandparents serving locally at St. Pius. As a young adult going to North Idaho College, Maxwell ran the local North Idaho Young Democrats club, assisted with local campaigns and the school levy. Maxwell strives to build a better Idaho for everyone, with a heavy focus on expanding healthcare resources, increasing affordability and lowering the tax burden for the average family, preserving and protecting public lands, and investing into education for Idaho families.

Brian is a long-time Idaho resident who believes that government should serve the people and not out-of-state interests. Melissa is a geologic consultant and has been a resident of Idaho since 2009. She and her partner Jeff owned a house in Boise until 2016 when a job opportunity led them to Coeur d’ Alene. As a resident of District 3, she believes that Idaho needs leaders who are compassionate and act with integrity and decency on behalf of all their constituents,
not just a privileged few. Melissa is challenging incumbent Vito Barbieri who has held the seat since 2010. Her key issues are affordability, prosperity of working families, healthcare, women’s rights and the preservation of public lands.

My name is Carissa Brewer and I am running for Idaho Senate. I believe that politicians are public servants first and foremost. I will work hard to ensure every voice in district 4 is treated with integrity, dignity and respect.

Mirna Pleines is a healthcare compliance professional with 10+ years of experience working inside healthcare systems. She currently serves as a Senior Compliance Professional for a major healthcare organization and previously served as Risk, Compliance & Privacy Officer at a local Critical Access Hospital. She has seen firsthand how decisions made in Boise affect whether rural hospitals stay open and whether families can access care close to home.

Mirna holds Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Gonzaga University.

She is married to a 20-year U.S. Air Force veteran with a service-connected disability. Before remarrying, Mirna raised her daughters as a single mother earning $17 an hour. That is an experience that drives her commitment to working families, affordable housing, and the economic safety nets that Boise keeps cutting.

Mirna has called Coeur d’Alene home since 2002. She is running to bring healthcare expertise, veteran & military family support, and the perspective of a working family to the Idaho Legislature.
