On Thursday May 1st, from 5PM-7PM, citizens of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, will gather for a May Day “Honk & Wave” protest at U.S. 95 and Appleway Avenue near Walgreens.
Workers, immigrants, students, and families from North Idaho will join over 600 events nationwide in 50 states to honor the legacy of past labor struggles and demand public investment in our lives, not billionaire’s bank accounts. From fruit fields in California to classrooms in Chicago, kitchens in Queens to loading docks in Atlanta—this May Day, the many are organizing to take the country back from the few.
Just four months into the Trump Administration, the May Day action emerges as American families face cuts to programs for low-income students, reductions in Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare, attacks on international graduate students and calls for additional tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires.
This nonviolent protest is part of a national movement demanding accountability and an end to corporate greed. Join us in standing up for our future.
