September 21 is the first day that Idaho’s County Clerks can distribute mail in ballots to voters. Knowing that this election is critical and that health risks are a concern for many voters, it is recommended that you vote by mail. To get started, use the link I Will Vote to access the online Absentee Ballot Request portal. You can also use this resource to register to vote or check your registration status.
As an alternative, you can download an Absentee Ballot Request form and mail it in.
To receive an absentee ballot for the general election your request form must be received by the county clerk no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2020.
To have your vote counted, your voted absentee ballot must be received by the county clerk no later than 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Be sure to return your voted ballot to the Kootenai Elections office well in advance of the election deadline.
