In addition, please consider supporting The Suffragette project. The Suffragette is a new sculpture by Hayden artist Terry Lee. The sculpture honors women’s suffrage. The year 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment. This amendment to the US Constitution secured a woman’s right to vote in the United States. Consequently, the City of Coeur d’Alene commissioned a new statue called The Suffragette to celebrate this important milestone. The life size bronze statue of a woman is a first for the park. Thanks to the many donations received, much of the project’s $50,000 cost has been collected. Yet, there is still $10,000 needed to cover the entire cost of this effort. Therefore, if you believe in this symbol of equality and wish to see it honored and standing in McEuen Park please consider a contribution.
