SPAN of N ID: Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk–Virtual

The annual “Break the Silence” suicide awareness and prevention walk is virtual this year. Due to Covid-19, the original public walk was cancelled. The virtual walk was rescheduled for this Sunday, October 10th. This new date coincides with World Mental Health Day. The KC Dems have proudly sponsored this community event since 2018 and we encourage you to participate this year. The idea is for you to sign up to walk for SPAN. The difference is that you will choose your own 5k (3.1 mile) route. The walk is free unless you want to buy an event tee shirt. You can see all the information on the SPAN of North Idaho Facebook page. In addition, you can use this Eventbrite page to record your registration info and learn how to post your participation photos.

It’s not too late to contribute to our sponsorship fund by donating to the Kootenai County Democratic Central Committee (KCDCC). Checks can be made out to KCDCC with “SPAN” in the notation line. Mail to KC Dems at PO Box 1297, CDA, 83816

Also, save the date of November 5th on your calendars. Cathy Kraus, KC Dems Community Outreach Chair, will be the featured speaker for the Dem Club. She will update the club about suicide in our area and how the KC Dems have supported the important work of the Suicide Prevention Action Network in North Idaho.

Feel free to contact Cathy Kraus at catk1994@gmail if you have any questions.
