By order of the Governor, Idaho is conducting the May 19 State Primary Election by mail-in balloting. Therefore, normal polling places will not be open. Consequently, the state of Idaho is encouraging every eligible voter to request an absentee ballot. In light of this declaration, the Secretary of State created a web page to facilitate this process. Ballot requests are available online at www.idahovotes.gov/vote-early-idaho/. You must be a registered voter to request a ballot. Therefore, check your registration status before submitting your ballot request. All the resources you need to register and request your ballot are available at www.idahovotes.gov/vote-early-idaho/.The Kootenai County Elections Department has an outside box where you can pick up registration forms and absentee ballot requests.
