Democratic Club – Participating in Positive Change

This Friday the Democratic Club welcomes James McDay, Advocacy Director for TOC Diversity Resource (The Other Choice). TOC Diversity Resource is an educational community outreach and data collection nonprofit that provides Kootenai and the surrounding counties a platform to build diversity equity in our community and promote civil rights and social justice in support of inclusion of our citizens of color.

McDay will be speaking about TOC’s mission and its ongoing activist work in the community. TOC’s goal is to bring about social change and inclusion. TOC does this by providing a variety of services such as community outreach, historic preservation, lecture series and grassroots advocacy. TOC works hard to focus on inclusion and social justice, with dignity and respect to the multicultural community we live in and serve. Along with these services, TOC collects data on the experiences of citizens of color, and offers assistance documenting, investigating and direction on how to report claims of Civil Rights violations.
