Banning Books, Erasing Lives: Panel Discussion and Book Giveaway on Wednesday, 6/15 6-8:30 PM at the Human Rights Education Institute.
The panel discussion will highlight local perspectives on the impact caused by the disturbing trend of book challenges at public libraries and schools and examine why we must stand up for the freedom to read and the right to be included in public spaces. At least ten challenged books with recognized merit
will be given away with limited supply.
Book donations can be made by visiting our Amazon Charity List through a link on our CDA4Pride 2022 webpage.
Registration is required to attend this event.
A statement from the North Idaho Pride Alliance Board of Directors advised that “law enforcement is aware of statements made about this summer’s events. We are working to make north Idaho a more inclusive and happier place to live. We will continue to take steps to support public safety. North Idaho Pride Alliance will not be intimidated or deterred from organizing community events. Our leadership strongly encourages the public NOT to engage with protestors they may encounter outside events or online. We ask that supportive community members and partners focus on promoting events with positivity for a successful Pride Month celebration.”
