Minimum Wage Discussion

As you may know, over the last couple of years, I’ve been volunteering and participating in community activism. I strongly believe that work deserves fair compensation. In that effort, I’ve invited Rod Couch of Boise to meet with people who believe in raising the minimum wage. Please mark your calendar and use this opportunity to learn about grassroots activism. Join us this coming Saturday, 10:30 am, at the Hayden Library.

Did you know that Arkansas and Idaho have the highest percentage of workers who make under $12 an hour? For Idaho, that is approximately a quarter of a million citizens or 39.6% of workers; 88% of these jobs belong to people over 20, and 55% are women. Minimum wage in Idaho has remained stagnant for ten years at $7.25 an hour. 29 states have acted to raise their minimum wage–Idaho now has the lowest minimum wage of adjacent states: Montana, Washington, Oregon, and Nevada.

Please come out to show support. Feel free to call me.

Sincerely,
Lisa Schaff
