KCDems: Texting to stop redistricting procedure changes

All members and all Democrats we need your participation to prevent this Republican effort at gerrymandering from happening.  An Idaho commission consisting of six (6) members was approved by the electorate.  The procedure allows the Democrats and Republicans to each appoint three (3) members.  Since the commission is evenly split between 3 Democrats and 3 Republicans the members have to agree and compromise to approve any changes to the district lines.  This has worked well in the past and Idaho has remained a State without serious problems with the district composition,  The republicans are now trying to change the process.  They are attempting to add a seventh member to the commission who by law would be appointed by a Republican.  The result is always a 4 – 3 vote with the Republicans always in the majority.  There is no rationale for this other than a power grab attempt by republicans.

PLEASE HELP TO STOP THIS.  The Idaho Democratic Party is setting up a Texting effort.  This is very easy, there are no hang ups or unanswered calls.  Each text goes through at the push of a button.  No need to talk just push a button and the word goes out to our legislators and others.  Honestly this is simple even for the technically challenged such as me.
Monday, February 11, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the KC Dems office in the first floor conference room, we will be texting using the application named Hustle.  Hustle is the texting application used by the Idaho Democratic Party.  This can be downloaded to your phone, laptops, tablets whatever.  If you go to Http://idahodems.org/volunteer/ you can sign up and get all the necessary information, Robert West (robert@idahodems.org) and Dylan Simpson (idp.dsimpson@gmail.com) can be contacted for any questions.
This texting can be done from your home if the Hustle  application is downloaded.  This at home texting will be operating from 11:00 to 7:00 (PT).
This may sound confusing or a lot of work to some of us but honestly it isn’t.  If I can do it, anyone can.  If you can get to the Kootenai Democratic Party February 11  between 1:00 and 5:00 someone will be there to get you started.
