Precinct Organization
The key to winning elections is precinct organization. A precinct is the smallest geographic unit in politics. In Idaho, there are currently 944 precincts and of those, 68 are in Kootenai County. They vary in size from a few dozen to about 2000 voters. As a precinct captain, you work with other local precinct captains to set goals to identify and turn out voters for Democratic candidates in your precinct. Being a precinct captain is a volunteer position that is exciting, challenging and at the heart of our democracy! Most importantly, it is a job that you do not have to do all by yourself. In fact, we can help you form a team of Democrats in your precinct that can help you.
Wanted: Precinct Captains!
We currently have openings for precinct captains throughout the county. Getting out the vote for local, state, and national Democratic candidates is the work of precinct captains. So, if you care about the outcome of this election, take action now to get involved at the grassroots level.
If you would like to know more about what is involved, please plan to join our Zoom conference. This one-hour overview will introduce you to the Kootenai County Democratic Central Committee and the duties of precinct captains.
