KC Dems Club: Economic Development

It is hard not to notice the rapid pace of development and growth in Kootenai County. The reason is simple, Idaho’s population is growing quickly, and Kootenai County is not exempt. In fact, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, Idaho has led the other forty-nine states and Washington, D.C., in percent increase of growth for the fifth consecutive year. To help us assess the implications that this population expansion presents, we have asked Gynii Gilliam to join us. Ms. Gilliam is the President of the Coeur d’Alene Area Economic Development Corporation (CdAEDC).

Join us this Friday at noon online for a look at the challenges and opportunities presented by our rapid population growth.

About Gynii Gilliam

Gynii joined the CdAEDC in March of 2015. She is charged with helping create vital communities in the region by diversifying the economy and helping business create jobs.

About the CdAEDC

The CdAEDC is the economic development organization for Kootenai County, representing all the rural communities in the region and the four larger communities: Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Hayden, Rathdrum. Their mission is “to build a healthy economy for the region by strengthening the base, diversifying the economy, supporting the creation of new jobs, and advancing workforce development in cooperation with local, regional, and state economic partners, and existing businesses and industries to facilitate business retention, expansion, and attraction.”
