Contested races for the Lakes, Post Falls and Worley Highway Districts are on the May 16 ballot. In addition, there is a contested district race for the Kootenai Hospital board. Depending on where you live, you may vote in one or more of these races. Lynn Humphreys is the incumbent candidate for the Post Falls Highway District. She is seeking re-election. She will be our guest this week. We have also invited the other three candidates to join us. They are Mike Curry for Lakes Highway District, and Phil Cooper for Worley Highway District along with Dr. Thomas DeTar for the Kootenai Hospital District. Unfortunately, Dr. DeTar has confirmed that he is unable to attend. Currently, we have not heard back from Mr. Curry or Mr. Cooper. Nonetheless, we will discuss each of these four races, even if the candidates are not able to participate.
