The Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN) of North Idaho is an organization that works to prevent suicide and combat the stigma associated with those who attempt it. The Kootenai Democrats proudly support the work of SPAN of Idaho. In fact, we have been a financial backer and participant in their annual Break the Silence 5K walk for many years.
The Kootenai Democrat’s Outreach Committee Chair is Cathy Kraus. She encouraged our financial support and participation in the annual SPAN Walk. This Friday, she will remind us of the work of SPAN and the importance of suicide prevention. Her presentation includes a video by the Idaho SPAN group which presents statistical data about suicide in Idaho. Suicide is an issue that effects everyone equally. Please join us this Friday at noon online for a frank discussion of this critical issue.
