KC Dem Club on-line: Mike Patrick–Christmas for All

CDA Press editor Mike Patrick is our guest this week at the Democratic Club. The purpose of his visit is to inform us of the PRESS CHRISTMAS FOR ALL CAMPAIGN. 2020 marks the 35th year for this annual community fundraiser. Helping the working poor, homeless, jobless, and disabled is their goal. The campaign target is to raise $200,000 to help the needy cope with the economic pressures brought on by the COVID Crisis. Area businesses, groups, and individuals raised $60,058 in November doubling the amount raised at the same point last year.

“It’s largely because of the adversity our community has faced that we believe the goal can be met,” said Press Publisher Clint Schroeder. “This is an amazing place made up of amazing people. When they put their mind to it, they’ve shown over and over that they can do anything.” Last year, PRESS CHRISTMAS FOR ALL raised $181,935. The economy was good, the coronavirus was unknown, and the annual holiday fundraiser had taken on a new look and new mission: To provide a hand up rather than a handout to neighbors in need.

Join Mike this Friday, December 11, at noon for a message of hope and goodwill and learn how this important community fundraiser will serve the needy in our area this Christmas.

Phil will distribute the online discussion link on Thursday, December 10. If you don’t receive it, email him at pjwmia@aol.com.
