The election results next week may not be the only scary story for some of us this time of year. Halloween brings forth visions of ghosts and goblins for the Democratic Club this Friday Oct 30th at noon online. Your computer screen will not protect you from this day. Our guest speaker is Devin Weeks. As we know Devin is a staff writer for the Coeur d’Alene Press, our community newspaper. She will be bringing some levity and folklore to us.
In the CdA Press on October 1st Devin invited us all to send her ghost stories in her article entitled “Ghostober Is Upon Us” with a ghost-like trick-or-treater shown.
Who knew how many ghosts inhabited Kootenai County. No place is safe. One of my first stops after arriving in Coeur d’Alene was Kelly’s Irish Pub. Devin tells us to beware in her article entitled Pesky Pub Poltergeist. Did the ghosts leave when Kelly’s changed hands? I’ll have to ask. The stories abound throughout Kootenai County. Here’s a sampling from Devin’s article entitled “A Haunting We Will Go”: “Rain began to pound the old rooftops of Wallace just after a group of women slipped inside the historic Jameson Hotel. Led by Coeur d’Alene medium and master healer Jennifer Von Behren, the ladies looked around in wonder, soaking in the energy of the shadowy building, which has been vacant for about five years.”
