This week the Club focuses its attention on how we as a nation can combat climate change. Given all the overwhelming scientific evidence and despite the deniers objections, it is increasingly clear that we face a serious problem that must be addressed. We will receive an overview of the climate problem and a proposed solution from our guests at the
Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL). CCL is a worldwide environmentalist advocacy organization. It is focused on creating bi-partisan policies to address climate change. For example, a key solution advocated by CCL in the United States is the
Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act. If enacted, this bi-partisan, revenue neutral legislation would reduce emissions by at least 40% in the first 12 years, create a financial dividend for low- and middle-income Americans, and create 2.1 million new jobs.
The Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) is an international organization. Therefore, they work to enact effective Climate Change Mitigation policy in countries throughout the world. If you support this important initiative, join the Citizens’ Climate Lobby’s Coeur D Alene chapter and put your passions to work. This local group meets monthly. Come join the discussion and learn how you can help move climate change policy in a positive direction.
Our guest from the Citizens’ Climate Lobby are:
- David Muise-Electronic Communications Organization
