There will be no meeting this week in lieu of the Thanksgiving holiday. We wish you a happy and joyous day as you share time with family and friends, savor your holiday meal, and recuperate for next week’s Dem Club! We will see you again next Friday, December 3, 2021 at noon online.
About Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated on various dates in the United States, Canada, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and Liberia. It began as a day of giving thanks and sacrifice for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Similarly named festival holidays occur in Germany and Japan. Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday of October. Americans, on the other hand, celebrate the holiday on the fourth Thursday of November. Although Thanksgiving has historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, secular groups also celebrate Thanksgiving.
