KC Dem Club: No Club Meeting

If you are feeling out of touch with our state legislators, there’s is a chance to be heard “up close and personal.” Our Kootenai County legislators have a large capital “R” after their names. This Thursday we can meet and greet legislators with a (D) after their names. The Kootenai County Democratic Party has arranged this event and invited the Dems Club to attend. If this sounds like lobbying, it is. Just to be clear: Lobbying is the act of lawfully attempting to influence the actions, policies, or decisions of government officials, most often legislators. Lobbying may be done by individuals in their capacity as voters, constituents, or private citizens. This is not a negative action but a positive one for us. LET’S LOBBY!

Join Democratic State Legislators for Lunch on Thursday, October 26th at 11:30 am, in person at Capone’s Pub on the Green at the Ponderosa Springs Golf Course. There is a limited meal menu available including burgers, hotdogs, soup, and chili, as well as a couple of appetizers. There is also a full bar. This is a no host function so you must buy your own food and beverages. This gathering is a wonderful opportunity to meet these legislators and the Democratic Club is using it to gather as well. This is a chance to renew in person friendships and meet potential new club members.

The Democrat Club typically meets each Friday at noon either in-person or online. For online access, we distribute a Zoom link for our club meetings each Thursday prior to the meeting date. Contact Phil at pjwmia@aol.com to request the link or assistance connecting.
