Each Friday the Democratic Club presents topics of community interest. This week, our topic’s relevance extends beyond our community. In fact, it has state and national implications. Our guest speakers represent Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. They are Alice and Nick Arambarri. Alice is MDA’s North Idaho group leader. Her husband Nick is their legislative leader. Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. The local group is growing numbers and visibility. As a result, a demand for social change is gaining support. Furthermore, NRA support is diminishing as MDA’s support is ramping up. Together, Alice and Nick will present the work of MDA from a national and local perspective.
