The Idaho Democratic Women’s Caucus wholeheartedly invites you to our Sunday Morning breakfast with Tai Simpson. The breakfast is part of the Clint Stennett Fall Meeting and Training agenda. It takes place on Sunday, October 6, 2019, from 7:30 am to 9 am at the Coeur d’Alene Inn Best Western. Tickets to the breakfast are $30.00 per person and can be purchased at the door.
Our featured guest speaker is Tai Simpson. Tai is a Nez Perce tribal member. She is also a social change advocate with the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence. She spoke at the 2019 TEDxBoise. Tai is a wonderful storyteller who has participated in the 2019 Indigenous People’s March in the nation’s capital.
Tai will present Protecting the Sacred: A Primer on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW). She hopes to raise to awareness about the number of missing and murdered Native American women in Canada and the United States. According to the US Department of Justice, Native American women face murder rates that are more than ten times the national average.
So, start your morning off with the Full Sunrise Traditional breakfast. This buffet features country red-skinned potatoes, honey glazed ham, brown sugar bacon, maple sausage links, fluffy scrambled eggs. In addition, there will be chilled orange juice, coffee, and teas along with seasonal fruit, muffins, and pastries.
The IDWC accepts checks, cash, and debit/credit cards for payment. Net proceeds from the event support the Idaho Democratic Women’s Caucus and our efforts to help elect more Democratic women into public office across the state.
