About the Human Rights Education Institute

The Human Rights Education Institute is a direct response to the local hate movement spawned by the Aryan Nations in the 1980’s. Incidentally, the HREI is the educational arm of the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations. The task force defends the principles outlined in the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution and the Idaho State Constitution. The mission of the HREI is to celebrate diversity and promote human rights by educating, raising awareness, and recognizing the value of all humanity. The Kootenai County Democratic Central Committee fully supports the objectives and actions of this organization.
