Democratic Club-Creative Community Collaboration

Creative Community Collaboration

This Friday, the Democratic Club will learn how creative community collaboration moves the culture forward. This discourse will be led by Blair Williams. Blair is the owner of The Art Spirit Gallery in Coeur d’Alene. She will talk about the current programming undertaken by the Arts Ed Co-Lab. Arts Ed Co-Lab is a non-profit organization working in collaboration with The Art Spirit Gallery, University of Idaho, and North Idaho College.

Teaching the Business of Art

The value of the arts in our society is immeasurable. Arts and culture enhance our well-being. Moreover, it unites communities. Most importantly, the arts are how we tell the stories of our civilization and world. Therefore, to ensure the arts continue to reach and benefit others, we need leaders who can help the arts flourish. Furthermore, these enlightened leaders must understand what it takes to engage communities in supporting art and culture.

Consequently, the Arts Ed Co-Lab’s mission is three-fold. First, it strives to provide programming on arts education. In addition, it offers professional development opportunities for artists. Finally, it seeks to generally serve our community through the business of art and the art of business.
