Who Stands for Our Teachers?
This week’s club presenter is Bruce Twitchell, the president of the Coeur d’Alene Education Association. He will be joined by the CEA’s lead negotiator, Scott Traverse. They will discuss the role of the CEA in negotiating on behalf of CEA members and the current state of public education.
Dr. Ernest Boyer, a national leader in education, said that “Teachers are, without question, the heartbeat of a successful school.” Who, after all, knows more about the classroom? Who is better able to inspire children? Who can evalute, more sensitively, the educational progress of each student? And who but teachers create a true community for learning?
