A Conversation on Climate Change: What’s Happening and What You Can Do to Help
Climate change is an urgent issue. Consequently, it poses a critical threat to our environment, our economy, our security, and our lives. More alarmingly, we are beginning to see its effects today. For example, our summers are longer and hotter, storms are more frequent and severe, flooding is a growing threat, droughts are increasing in severity and wildfires more devastating. These threats and many others are putting our families and communities at ever greater risk.
Fortunately, we know how to work together to solve this problem. We also have the momentum to make the needed changes. The Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) is a non-partisan, nonprofit grassroots network of local volunteers working in communities across the nation. Their goal is to implement national policies to address climate change. We have built a broad coalition of business, environmental, and governmental leaders to develop the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act (H.R. 763). This bill proposes to create a Carbon Fee and Dividend policy that would use the power of American Innovation to rapidly reduce greenhouse gas emissions while growing our economy and helping our families adapt.
Please join us to learn about our organization, discuss our proposal, build common ground, and take action that can help all Americans work together to respond to the climate challenge.
