The Civic Engagement Alliance is sponsoring a Trash Tag Challenge to commemorate Earth Day 2022. The event takes place on Sunday, April 24 from 11 am to 1:30 pm.
Every year, trash accumulates along the banks and medium of our freeway and its designated rest areas. Now that the winter snow cover has receded, this unsightly mess is glaringly visible to everyone who transits I-90 including residents and visitors.
This public volunteer cleanup effort is an opportunity for concerned citizens to take meaningful action to beautify our community. The focus of the Trash Tag Challenge is the I-90 corridor including the rest areas, and nearby parks. We are challenging the citizens of Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls to collectively fill one hundred bags of trash at the event!
We hope everyone will walk away with a sense of accomplishment and commitment to building a sustainable community.
All those who wish to participate are invited to meet up with us at the Treaty Rock Park Picnic Area in Post Falls. Please plan to be there before 11 AM.
