KC Dems: 4th of July Parade Entry–We Walk for Our Heroes

Plan to be part of the Blue Wave of Democrats marching in Coeur d’Alene’s 4th of July Parade. Our theme this year is “We Walk for Our Heroes!” So, bring a sign that honors a pandemic hero, such as, “We honor our EMTs!” If you do not wish to carry a sign, waving and smiling suffice. The key is to help us celebrate community and honor our nation’s founding.  (About 20 pre-made signs will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, courtesy of Ruben Miranda.)  This community event also serves as a visibility campaign to let voters know that there are Democrats in Kootenai County. Let us remind them that we recognize the sacrifices made by our essential workers during the pandemic. Wear good walking shoes and your blue KC Dem t-shirt! Paula Marano will lead our group in her blue Mercedes she calls “Sporty Blue.”

The parade committee has confirmed our parade position as number 37. We will march between Champion Concrete Pumping & Conveying and the Deer Park Float Association. The staging location is just east of 17th on the north side of Sherman Avenue. Plan to arrive no later than 10:30AM to allow time for getting everyone organized. The parade starts promptly at 11AM. The parade follows Sherman Avenue from 15th Street to the intersection of Northwest Blvd. and Government Way.  KC Dems t-shirts will be available for sale, $15 each.
