Central Labor Council: Workers’ Memorial Dedication

The dedication of the North Idaho Central Labor Council’s Workers’ Memorial will be held at Coeur d’Alene City Park west of the Human Rights Education Institute building on April 28 at 2 pm.

April 28 is International Workers’ Day.  Idaho Governor Butch Otter proclaimed April 28 as Workers’ Memorial Day for Idaho.  This day is an opportunity to highlight the preventable nature of most workplace accidents and to promote campaigns in the fight for improvements in workplace safety.

The monument pays tribute to Idaho workers who were killed on the job or died from illness or exposure to harmful working conditions. Their names will be inscribed in stone for perpetuity.
