Kootenai County candidates will participate in the Virtual Town Hall Forum starting at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Brought to viewers by The Press and North Idaho Chambers of Commerce, the forum will feature candidates for four Kootenai County offices: coroner, clerk, assessor and commissioner.
Coroner candidates Duke Johnson and Mark Manteuffel are in the 5:30 p.m. time slot, followed by Jennifer Locke and Mike Bauer for clerk at 6:10, Béla Kovacs and Bob Scott for assessor at 6:50 p.m., and Chris Fillios and Bruce Mattare for commissioner have the 7:30 p.m. time slot.
Each segment of the program will feature three pre-written questions, with one alternate question if time permits. The broad, issues-centric questions have been submitted by Press readers and Chamber partners. The questions are timely and relevant to specific political races and will relate to stated platforms.
The forum is designed to be informative for the audience. Participants are expected to be respectful and civil. Time will be closely managed.
“It’s a great opportunity to get to know the eight candidates for the four county contested races,” said Press Publisher Clint Schroeder, who will also moderate the event. “Each candidate comes at their respective race from a unique point of view.”
The live forum will also be recorded. The
final version will be posted to “Meet the
