Join us for a two-day online session. Materials will be shared with individuals that register for this training.
Day 1: Wednesday, February 15, 6:30 – 8 p.m. MST and Day 2: Thursday, February 16, 6:30 – 8 p.m. MST.
This is another opportunity for an online training that’s very important to everyone concerned about the unrelenting assault on our rights by a radicalized element in the legislature–reproductive rights, citizen initiatives, targeting of LGBTQ, vouchers to take funds from the public schools to benefit private for-profit schools.
Day 1: Wednesday There is so much at stake at the Idaho Legislature this year. Many community members are perhaps wondering, how can I get involved, where do I direct my energy, and what can I do to address the issues I care about to our lawmakers?Well, this upcoming training will be the perfect opportunity for you to address those questions. We invite you to join us for our annual “Justice is Just Us” lobby day training. As we do every year, our policy and advocacy departments host a lobby day training for community members to learn tips and tricks on how to engage during the legislative session. Day 2: Thursday, February 16, 6:30 – 8 p.m. MST Zoom (log-in details provided upon registration) Overview of training dates:Wednesday, February 15: On day 1, we will review the legislative process and discuss how to engage with individual lawmakers and sign up to testify. By participating in this training, you will have the opportunity to ask questions related to the legislative process and acquire tools and resources on how to lobby your legislators and advocate for issues you care about.Thursday, February 16: For day 2, we will review legislative issues that the ACLU of Idaho is tracking this 2023 legislative session. We will provide additional substantive background on legislative bills, share talking points, and legislative targets and tips on how to engage. |
