The KC Dems are reaching out to help our community through a Bleed Blue Blood Drive. You may not know it, but the Red Cross has declared a nationwide blood shortage. To make matters worse, donation drives at high schools and colleges, which serve as a significant source for blood donations, have dropped by a whopping 62% since the pandemic started. As a result, the low blood supplies are making it difficult for hospitals and other medical facilities to provide blood-dependent medical services. Moreover, blood has a shelf life so our national blood supply must be continuously replenished to keep up with the demand for blood-related products.
The solution is for people to donate blood on a regular basis. Donating is easy. You can donate blood at Vitalant Blood Donation Center at 405 W Neider in CDA. Click here to make an appointment online or call 877-258-4825.
All it takes is your willingness and a little time to help reduce the shortage!
