This event filled weekend is an exciting moment for the Kootenai County Democrats.
The 2022 Democracy Dinner is This Friday
Now that COVID Safety Protocols are behind us, we look forward to resuming our Annual Democracy Dinner Gala this Friday. It takes place at the Coeur d’Alene Resort and features the best and brightest of Idaho’s Democratic leadership.
IDP Chair, Representative Lauren Necochea will be our Master of Ceremonies. As MC, she will introduce the many (and I do mean many) Democrats who are running for offices in our county and in our state. We are proud to have Lauren joining us.
The candidates giving addresses include David Roth, US Senate; Kaylee Peterson, US House of Representatives; Steven Heidt, Governor; Terri Pickens-Manweiler, Lt. Governor; Terri Gilbert, Superintendent of Public Instruction; Larry Bieber, Idaho Legislature; Teresa Borrenpohl, Idaho Legislature; Kristy Reed Johnson, Idaho Legislature; Ruben Miranda, Kootenai County Board of Commissioners. What a terrific group.
Serving as keynote is Representative Chris Mathias. Mathias lives in Boise with his wife and two children. He is an attorney with a PhD in law and public policy. He represents the 19th District in the Idaho House of Representatives. Mathias is a great orator; his speech to the Idaho House or Representatives on House Bill 387 regarding the funding of our public colleges and universities. His eloquence and emotion are spellbinding. It is available on his Facebook page.
Ticket sales for the Democracy Dinner Gala have closed. However, if you did not get tickets but still wish to attend the ceremonies, you can still join us for the candidate’s presentations and the keynote address. Email us at kootenaicountydemocrats@gmail.com if you are interested.
The Democracy Symposium is this Saturday
At 11 AM on Saturday morning, the day after the Democracy Dinner Gala, we will gather again to hear a public symposium on Democracy, Extremism, and the Dobb’s Decision. It will feature experts speaking on these two topics. Clint Schroeder, the Publisher of the Coeur d’Alene Press, will serve as moderator. The symposium is free but does require registration. You can register here.
Have a terrific week everybody. And thanks for being a Democrat.
