DEMOCRATS TURNED OUT ON JULY 4TH
I hope you enjoyed your Independence Day, and that you had time to participate in the July 4th parade festivities in downtown Couer d’Alene. Despite the cool wet weather, we had a good group of marchers and thousands watched and showed support. Candidates Larry Bieber, Teresa Borrenpohl, Megan Dardis-Kunz, and Ruben Miranda featured prominently. In addition, IDP Region 1 Director Kathy Judson and her husband Mike brought two extremely cute miniature donkeys to accompany us down the parade route. Also, a gorgeous blue Mercedes Benz convertible owned by Paula and Gene Marano added style to our assembly.
Most importantly, hundreds of women representing the Coeur d’Alene Women’s March followed the Kootenai County Democrats. This assembly of women numbered in the hundreds. They carried signs in support of women’s rights, especially abortion.
Bystanders along the parade route responded to both groups with cheers, whistles, and thumbs up. This show of support was very encouraging.

Imagine having DemocratS Representing Us
With Independence Day behind us, the election season can now get underway. Idaho’s statewide candidates are coordinating their northern campaigns from Coeur d’Alene. In addition, the Kootenai Democrats are working to hire an additional field organizer and recruit volunteer canvassers to leverage this coordinated effort for a win in November. To be clear, it takes work, but it is possible to achieve victory with a committed group of volunteers. So, please lend a hand.
You can volunteer to call or text prospective voters. You can also contribute to our 2022 campaign fund or those of our slate of 2022 candidates. Whatever you do, it is light work, and it leaves you with a good feeling. Plus, as a volunteer canvasser, you are among friends. Moreover, you are contacting people who could become new acquaintances who share your values. Most importantly, through your volunteer service you are an active part of the solution to create a bipartisan coalition with enough votes to elect Democrats.
So, watch our website calendar for upcoming Dem events and plan to get involved.
I hope to see you this summer.
