IDAHO YOUNG DEMOCRATS EXPANDING TO NORTH IDAHO

Kootenai County will soon be the home of a new chapter of the Idaho Young Democrats (IDYD). This fledgling chapter is just getting off the ground, but once it reaches cruising altitude, it will offer young Democrats a forum to meet and discover pathways to involvement in our party. Mobilizing young Democrats is how we will build out our numbers and identify the next generation of political leaders. For now, please refer interested individuals (ages 14-36) to the Boise IDYD Chapter website. Before too long, we will have a structure of our own.

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

The Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations (KCTFHR) is hosting a Summer Luncheon, featuring a keynote address by Dr. Nick Swayne, President of North Idaho College (NIC). Dr. Swayne’s presentation, “Higher Education and Democracy: Report on NIC’s Progress,” promises to be both timely and insightful, especially given previous challenges faced by NIC and the current attacks on higher education by the Trump administration. Attendees can expect an engaging discussion on the role of higher education in preserving democratic values.

The luncheon takes place at the Best Western Coeur d’Alene Inn on Wednesday, June 18th, with tickets available for $25. Use this form to register.

CELEBRATE THE START OF SUMMER WITH US

I hope you will join us at the Red White & Blue BBQ on June 22nd. Thisvibrant community gathering offers Democrats an opportunity to gather for music, food, and conversation. It takes place at Majestic Park in Rathdrum ID.

YOU’RE GETTING NEW LEADERSHIP

And finally, by this time next week, you will have a new Chair and Vice Chair for the Kootenai County Democratic Central Committee. Please welcome them with open arms and continue to commit your time and financial support to keep our chapter of the Democratic Party thriving.
