LEAD, FOLLOW, OR GET OUT OF THE WAY.

Idahoans are joining other Americans in questioning what Democrats are doing to address the challenges posed by the Trump/Musk administration. Here in Kootenai County, local citizens are also enraged by the actions of the Regan/Norris led KCRCC. For our part, here are actions we have taken so far to push back against these malignant forces.

  • Hosted our own Town Hall with Reps. Larry La Rocco and Richard Stallings.
  • Composed and delivered over 125 postcards to our legislators in Boise.
  • Collecting and archiving evidence to secure the history of the KCRCC Town Hall.
  • Planning a townhall/symposium in June with Professor David Adler.
  • Recruiting and filling open precinct positions on the Central Committee.
  • Endorsing and participating in the “Hands Off!” Rally on April 5.

RESISTANCE TO THE EXTREMISM IS MOUNTING.

Speaking of which, “Are you marching with us at the “Hands Off!” Rally this Saturday, April 5?” I hope so. Trump, Musk, Regan, and Norris are not just malicious and destructive, they are downright unlikable. Let’s send them a clear and loud message: NO to the Trump/Musk/Regan/Norris Axis!!

One demonstration might not change much. It won’t hold them accountable. In fact, it is unlikely to even evoke a response from the incompetents in power who are orchestrating these destructive attacks on our democracy, our national security, and our human rights.

Think of it as just the first in a relentless wave of public demonstrations. Together we will create a tsunami of resistance until our voices are heard!

EVERYBODY GOES ON SOCIAL MEDIA, RIGHT?

Admit it to yourself at least. Since you are already logging your time, let me urge you to spend some of it on “Politiscape”. The host Josh McDonald is a Kootenai County Dem. He is also a very bright guy with excellent screen presence. You can find his content on Facebook and watch his videos on Youtube. I hope you enjoy it. Either way, let me know your thoughts.

WORTH OF A WOMAN?

It wasn’t long ago that this would be considered a stupid question, but not in current times. If you were to ask Republicans, they would tell you that a woman’s value is based solely on their ability to birth babies and keep a home, and nothing more. As a counter narrative, Pro Voice Project is sponsoring a traveling exhibit designed to elevate the conversation around reproductive healthcare in Idaho and a woman’s right to choose. Worth of a Woman explores the connections between women’s health and community health, barriers to accessing care, how our system is failing us, and our hopes for the future. The Art Spirit Gallery will host a Worth of a Woman exhibit in June, including art works, theater and other programming around reproductive rights.

The Pro Voice Project is a grassroots effort focused on addressing and publicizing women’s reproductive rights in Idaho. I attended my first PVP meeting in Post Falls last week and it was a very moving experience. They are holding monthly meetings in various locations around the panhandle to spread their message. I encourage everyone who supports women’s rights to join their movement. Subjects they address at these meetings include Identifying Fears, Knowing Your Rights, and Actions You Can Take.

EMPTY SEAT TOWN HALL

Kaylee for Congress will hold an Empty Seat Town Hall: An Afternoon Without Russ Fulcher on Sunday April 13. Since Russ Fulcher refuses to face Idaho’s First District, Kaylee Peterson is hosting Empty Chair Town Halls throughout the district to make sure you are heard. Ask your questions, share your thoughts, be heard, and get answers. Join her at the Coeur d’Alene Library on April 13th from 3-4:15pm!

FIGHT THE OLIGARCHY

Last but certainly not least, I want to mention that the Fighting Oligarchy Tour featuring Senator Bernie Sanders and Congress Person Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is coming to Boise in April. They are hitting the road to hold real discussions across America on how we move forward to take on the Oligarchs and corporate interests who have so much power and influence in this country. This location stop is not posted on their website yet so keep checking back so that you can RSVP for this important event.

Making our voices heard takes time and commitment. However, this ground swell of activity is an encouraging start. Please join in.

See you Saturday!!
