Looking Forward

Happy New Year, I suppose.

The year 2025 began with a tragic event in New Orleans, which is not happy news. We do not know all the details yet, so instead of taking sides or concluding anything, let us just say that 2025 has not started on a good note.

Putting that sad news aside, for now, let us resolve to stick together in the new year in every way possible. You could start by calling your friends and loved ones to wish them well.

Also, remind yourself and others that Democrats are committed to restoring sanity and civility to our government and communities. If you share this goal, then please plan now to become (or remain) an active member of the Party. As the loyal opposition, we must hold the GOP to account by exposing their breaches of faith, deliberate distortions, and misguided decisions.

And if you can, climb that ladder of involvement. For example, if you volunteered to write postcards, then become a phone banker. Or, if you were a phone banker last election season, then step up to door knocking. And, if you have done door knocking, then become a precinct captain. Moreover, recruit a friend or three to join you.

By building our numbers and working together, we can lead the way out of this mess. And remember, you will be in the absolute best of company.
