HAVE HOPE
The Holiday Season is well underway, and this season of hope offers reasons for us to feel hopeful. For example, the President-Elect is nominating unqualified and ill-equipped individuals for Cabinet posts. Given their clear ineptness, this should be a hopeful sign that little will get done. So many of them are unqualified in fact, that we should probably expect more governmental mayhem than actual destruction.
As a result, there is reason to believe that Democracy might just survive the next four years. However, it will not be assured without our vigilant oversight. Therefore, we must stand firm and hold them accountable. I believe Democrats can do this and this gives me hope as well.
In January, after a review of what we can learn from our 2024 performance, I hope we can start the work needed to rebuild a bigger stronger Democratic Party presence in Kootenai County. It begins by committing to call out the incumbents for their missteps and mistaken policies. That we will do with joy as “happy warriors.”
HAPPY HOLIDAYS
For now, however, let’s put politics aside and enjoy the Holiday Season. For me, I am looking forward to my kids coming home for a week or two. This gives me hope for they are so engaging and so much fun to be around.
I am also looking forward to our planned Holiday Party at the Art Spirit Gallery. It takes place on Thursday, December 12 at 6:00 PM. This is a reservation only affair so if you still need tickets, please check in on Act Blue. Reserve Your Tickets Here.
I hope to see you there.
