Taking a Break to Recharge and Reflect: A Message of Hope and Resilience
Here is a short message before Loree and I leave for a weeklong vacation with friends and relatives.
I believe that it is good for the soul to take a break from obsessing about the current state we are in. Going forward there will be time to clearly contemplate our situation and begin efforts to defend our Democracy.
Also, remember, we are not strangers to being in the minority. We are a loyal opposition, holding those in power to account while building a base of support capable of displacing them. In the meantime, while our opponents hold onto their super majority, we must continue to remind them that their positions of power do not place them above the law or above scrutiny. And remember, though our struggles seem insurmountable, everything is cyclical, and better times will come eventually.
When we reconvene, let’s plan for how best to break the struggle down into manageable pieces. Until then, keep your eye on our social media for our end-of-the-year party plans.
And remember that your Democratic Party is alive and well and is grateful for all that you do.
Enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday.
