NIC BOARD OF TRUSTEES CANDIDATE FORUM
A North Idaho College Board of Trustees Candidate Forum will take place on September 26th at the Kroc Center. To save the college from losing its accreditation, we need to win just one more seat on that board to hold the majority. It seems to me that Eve Knutson and/or Mary Havercroft would serve that purpose. But who really knows?
MORE MAGA DRAMA
Your MAGA friends or loved ones may try to have you believe that Democrat’s rhetoric put Trump’s life in danger as he golfed in Florida last weekend. This assertion completely ignores Trump’s own persistent and inflammatory rhetoric.
Joyce Vance, in her Civil Discourse blog on Substack, wrote that the headline should have been “‘The Secret Service did it’s job!’ despite the fact that Trump’s outing had not been previously planned, which forced Secret Service agents “to work on the fly”—something they are loathe to do for precisely the reasons that materialized on Sunday.”
MAGA RHETORIC TARGETS LEGAL HAITIAN IMMIGRANTS
Since his unhinged diatribe about Haitian Immigrants eating pets, during the September 10 Presidential Debate, Trump has been ratcheting up the misinformation about this migrant community in Springfield, Ohio. As a result of the rhetoric, MAGA supporters have threatened Haitian residents and called in bomb threats to area schools.
As a result, Haitians, who were once falsely accused of spreading HIV/AIDs, must defend their humanity yet again.
This incident is just one more reason to vote Harris-Walz and ensure that Trump does not regain the Presidency.
PLEASE VOTE AS SOON AS YOU CAN
Voting early helps our Democratic campaigns assess their voter turnout. It also gives them visibility into who has voted and who requires further messaging. The Elections Office will mail the first round of Absentee Ballots on Friday, September 20th. So, watch your mailboxes. You can check your registration and ballot status at voteidaho.gov. Click on the “Voting” drop down menu and then on “Check Your Voter Record.”
Early In-Person Voting starts on October 15th and runs through November 1st from 8AM to 5 PM (Monday – Friday) at the County Elections Office at 1808 N. 3rd Street in Coeur d’Alene.
