Our political calendar has cooled down a bit for now. However, here are some social events to keep you engaged.

Dem Club Ice Cream Social

On Friday August 25 at 6 pm, Paula and John Neils are hosting an Ice Cream Social at their home on 15788 West Hollister Hills Drive in Hauser. Paula says “Bring a lawn chair, everything else will be provided.”

Organized Labor Events

Next Tuesday August 15, Kaylee Peterson will join representatives from the North Idaho Labor Council for a meet and greet at Rathdrum City Park.

Then, on Labor Day, Monday, September 4 the Central Labor Council of North Idaho and the Spokane Regional Labor Council are jointly sponsoring a free Labor Day Picnic at Q’emiln Park in Post Falls. This annual Labor Day Celebration features a car show and live music. Food and beverages are provided.

Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk

Once again, the Kootenai Democrats will support the Let’s Walk About It (formerly known as Break the Silence) Suicide Awareness and Prevention 5-K Walk. The walk takes place on Saturday, September 9th, at Riverstone Park in Coeur d’Alene. Many of your favorite Dems will be staffing the event as volunteers. You can find more information at empoweridaho.org.

Future Youth Event

And finally, plans are underway for a youth oriented social event. This event will include an effort to increase young voter registration. That’s all the info I have for now but I will add more about it in future posts.

Have a super week everyone. And thanks for being a Democrat.
