We have much to celebrate and be thankful for at this point in 2021.

Democrats control the White House, the Senate, and House of Representatives. On November 15th President Biden signed into law the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Both Idaho Senators favored it, but both Representatives opposed it. Our state can expect $2 billion for roads and bridges; $355 million for clean water projects; $24 million for climate change preparation; $192 million for public transportation; $100 million for broadband internet; and $86 million for airports.

Infrastructure improvements create jobs and draw new businesses. For details refer to the Idaho Capital Sun https://idahocapitalsun.com/2021/11/22/how-could-the-infrastructure-bill-affect-idaho-its-more-than-roads-and-bridges/.

We also celebrate the belated adjournment of the Idaho Legislature. After reconvening earlier this month, the Legislature failed to pass any of the heinous laws that had been proposed to fight the federal Covid 19 rules. The Idaho Freedom Foundation called it “a complete and total disaster.” Now that’s worth celebrating.

And finally, please join us as we gather in person to celebrate the end of another year together, in the best of company. We meet on December 13th from 6-8 PM at the County Administration Building to party with Gubernatorial Candidate Mayor Shelby Rognstad, Lt. Gubernatorial Candidate Terri Pickens Manweiler, and Legislative Candidate Teresa Borrenpohl. We will need to conduct a little end of the year business before we devote ourselves to a gift exchange ($5 limit) and a visit from Santa. So, bring a gift and be there for the fun of it!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. And thanks for being a Democrat.
