Election Follow Up
Thank you to the volunteers, the Field Organizing team, and everyone on the campaign staffs who stepped up to work on this election. Your efforts prove that we have dedicated hardworking Democrats in our midst who can reach across party lines to preserve our democracy.
First, we prevented a White supremacist from winning a seat on the Post Falls School Board. Second, we preserved the integrity of the Coeur d’Alene City Council.
Unfortunately, the false battle cry of No Critical Race Theory worked. As a result, voters chose to fill two seats respectively on the Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls School Boards with unqualified hyper-partisan candidates. Time will tell if their false promise of giving parents more control over curriculum will ever manifest. We will keep our eyes on the school boards.
It makes me wonder if the GOP politicians take their own alternate facts at face value. More likely they are just taking advantage of people who have fallen out of the middle class and say anything and do anything to take and keep power. That is how demagogues like Trump and Regan get powerful. We cannot let voters forget this.
Moving On
First, we thank Cheri and Peter Zao for their expert contributions to our website and work on precinct captain recruitment. We wish them well.
Consequently, we are excited to announce that Paula Neils has very graciously offered to take over the treasurer’s duties. Regarding IT, Teuvo Orjala has agreed to oversee it. More changes are yet to come. We have much to do in preparation for the 2022 election.
For now, let us just relax, and hope that the number of pickup trucks flying campaign flags will decline. You know of which ones I am referring.
Have a wonderful week everyone.
