This is Issue 2 of my recurring post called A Word from the Chair.

First things first: March 9th is school district bond/levy election day. It is crucial for every Democrat to vote in this election because some Idahoans want to defund public education. Idaho schools already rank near the bottom nationally. KCDCC is working with other like-minded groups to support this levy. Please step up to save our schools. Plan to vote. Go to Idahovotes.gov for all the information you need to register, obtain an absentee ballot, or figure out where you can vote in person to save our schools.

For those of you who need to be scared into voting, here is a flyer from the KCRC.

Our friend Luke Mayville, the co-founder of Reclaim Idaho, published an op ed Sunday. It appears elsewhere on this website. Mayville criticized Governor Little’s plan to eviscerate Medicaid in Idaho. The governor’s move would deprive countless Idahoans of dental and medical care in the face of the Covid19 pandemic. And it makes no fiscal sense. Please read Luke’s editorial and share it on social media if you can.

We are following the effort to hold NIC Board Chairman Todd Banducci responsible for his record of sexist strongarm behavior toward others within the college community.

We are pursuing the production of short videos to spread the Dem message on social media, and a mentoring program to support precinct captains.

We have a few remaining Biden/Harris labeled Coeur d’Alene Cellars wines and Biden/Harris Inauguration yard signs. Call the office to get ‘em while you still can.

And finally, on an even brighter note, our friend Cheri Zao has offered to spice up monthly meetings. At next Monday’s Central Committee meeting she will walk us through quick and easy truffles. Cheri and I trialed the recipe last week. It is simple and really good. For those willing to try it out, Cheri’s list of ingredients and required kitchen utensils are detailed below.

Have a great week!
